                    “ Ty Lee ! “ she calls, brows
                    furrowed, fists tight at her
                    sides. She frowns at the boys
                    watching her friend as she 
                    walks closer. She can see the 
                    smoke billowing from her own
                    nostrils, and she has to shake 
                    her head and wave it away so
                    Ty Lee doesn’t notice how 
                    angry she is. 

                                   ” I want you by my side at all times. “ 
                                   she growls, allowing Ty Lee to move
                                   ahead so she can glower at the strangers
                                   who are laughing and pointing at her, now. 
                                   She imagines herself creating a column 
                                   of flames and pushing it right towards
                                   them, but Ty Lee’s cheerful voice calls 
                                   her back to reality. She turns, and soon 
                                   forgets the encounter altogether ( but only
                                   because Ty Lee is holding her hand on
                                   their way back to the palace ).
