i. she is the Fire Lord’s daughter, all rage and beautiful words. she likes poetry but she doesn’t read. she likes to burn circles into the dirt and watch her ‘friends’ squirm under her touch. she especially likes to trace her fingers along her circus girl’s bare thighs, pant and curse and throw her head back with arched back like the world is hers and the flesh she sinks her nails into is claimed by her hot, hot touch. she breathes fire and knocks over empires to get what she so desires, all without speaking a word. ( but her words hurt her lover deeper than any of the wounds she’d ever received ) so when the princess says the meanest thing either of them had ever heard come from between her lips Ty Lee throws herself between the girl and her friend – and the beautiful thing between them dies like a snuffed out flame. the look in Azula’s eyes is all it takes to break the circus girl, and when they meet again all those years later that same look returns, and Ty Lee does not forgive herself for ruining what could have been love.

on an ask a long time ago you asked me my worst mistake i’ve ever made in rp. my answer was “ interacting with you! “, but in all honesty, i could not have made a better decision. at first, i was very shy and fearful of talking to you. first, because i thought you were “ taken”, and second, because the combination of your blog, writing, and style was so beautiful. overcoming this shyness was one of the best things i’ve done, because starting that conversation with you was the start of a really genuine, amazing friendship !! i could compliment you for years, after all, you are the cosmos to my universe, and you know how much i adore you, but just because it’s your birthday i’ll give you a list of things i admire about you: your beauty, your confidence, your jokes, your work ethic, your passions, your determination, and your versatility. i have learned so much from you, my ‘ big sister ‘ of sorts, my favorite partner, and my inspiration. you’re sweet ( nah, you’re a bully ) and kind, and even when we don’t talk i know i can always come back to you and have something to talk about ( mostly tyzula ). thanks for converting me to the hell that is this ship, thanks for keeping me on azula, and thanks for being you. happy birthday !! i know there are many adventures to come for you, and i hope to continue to hear all about them !! hello friends ! i only have 28 days of school left until the end of the
year, and some of my grades are really struggling, so I’ve decided
to take a short break from rp until I a) get my grades up and b) finish
my AP, IB, and final exams. i will probably return on the weekends,
but i am logging out all during the week. my hiatus officially starts
next weekend until may 22nd, after which i will be completely free
of (many) obligations and will have a few weeks to write! please
forgive this break; i will try to clear out some drafts (probably queue
some up along with other drabbles or notes) next friday before i
leave officially. (if you want my skype, just shoot me an ask!)

1. what they smell like: canon: she bathes in flower essence waters but the smell does not stick to her for long. she smells clean, fresh like linens at dinners and at royal balls, but only because it is required of her. on normal days, she smells of ash and spices, her hair carries an eternal (light) scent of smoke. most days she just smells slightly of her own sweat, but tends to bathe frequently. modern: she likes to smell clean and fresh, and most often smells like Dove or Spirit (generic, powder) deodorant and Chanel perfume when she’s attending her father’s meetings or going out. her hair smells like coconut or mildly-beachy shampoo, or another (higher end) brand that smells like fresh fruits and flowers.
2. how they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): azula rarely sleeps an entire cycle, having restless sleep and constant nightmares. she suffers from insomnia, at times, but there are moments of complete exhaustion when she can sleep for 10+ hours without interruption. (if she is disturbed her mood will change from content to enraged, so no one dares to wake her unless it is urgent) azula sleeps in the fetal position for the most part, but frequents other positions since she is usually unable to get comfortable.
3. what music they enjoy: canon: she doesn’t like music, especially classical played at royal events. wedding music makes her uncomfortable but traditional fire nation tunes make her nostalgic and content, but she doesn’t particularly “enjoy” them. modern: azula enjoys alternative, especially indie music. as a young teenager she had a “scene” phase and like metal and “screamo” but the phase has passed. she now likes florence + the machine, banks, modest mouse, some marina and the diamonds, and a lot of Japanese music. she also enjoys classical, since she plays several instruments.
4. how much time they spend getting ready every morning: not long. for important events she has a team to prep her, which takes from half and hour to several hours, depending on what she wants done. usually she showers quickly with a practiced routine, combs her hair and brushes her teeth, applies light makeup (if any), and eats quickly. she likes to start the day as soon as she wakes up so she can make the most of daylight.
5. their favorite thing to collect: azula does not value anything material, only wealth and power. if anything, she’d collect tokens from her ‘adventures’ or trophies of conquests.
6. left or right-handed: ambidextrous but favors her right hand.
7. religion (if any): azula is majorly uninterested in religion, (modern:) but has Shinto and Buddhist roots. when visiting Japan, she will visit the temples and recite prayers, but only half-heartedly. her belief in any god is limited to a monotheistic view, but with a reliance on ‘interconnectedness’ between this world and what lies beyond.
8. favorite sport: canon: Fire Nation sports are uninteresting, but street fights and (later) probending are what steals her attention from time to time. her focus is firebending. modern: soccer. her brother and her used to play together when they were smaller, on different teams. they were still very competitive and she still believes she can kick his ass if they were to play again.
9. favorite touristy thing to do when traveling: looking at historical monuments or enjoying the scenery. she seldom visits places for fun, though, and usually has a mission, so she won’t ‘dilly dally’ for long in any place.
10. favorite kind of weather: mildly warm. she hates the cold.
11. a weird/obscure fear they have: failure, and (canon:) dragons. she’s afraid of embarrassment and being seen as inferior, so she forces herself to believe that dragons are long extinct in the hopes that she will continue to be the ‘greatest firebender’ until she dies. even then, she wants to be remembered as the best, and is afraid that the dragons’ return will erase her name from the history books.
12. the carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: anything with darts or shooting/accuracy. she never fails to lose those games, seeing as her eyesight and aim are nearly perfect.
